Stitch Express Subscriptions is a Shopify app that allows you to offer products on a recurring basis to your customers.
With subscriptions, you can:
- Create flexible subscription plans
- Offer discounts on recurring purchases
- Manage subscription and once-off orders in one place
- Allow customers to manage their own subscriptions
- View all orders (once-off and recurring) directly in Shopify
Estimated setup time: 10-15 minutes
Before you start:
- You must have Stitch Express installed as a payment provider
- Stitch Express Checkout must also be installed
- In Shopify Settings, ensure:
- In Checkout: Email input is enforced at checkout
- In Customer Accounts: Sign-in links must be enabled
Step 1: Install the app
- Stitch Express will configure the Stitch Express Subscriptions App for your store
- You will receive an install link via email
- Install the app on your store
- Once installed, you will see the install guide appear
Step 2: Add the subscriptions widget
The subscription widget allows customers to:
- View available subscription options
- See associated discounts
- Select how often they want to receive the product
Adding the widget
- From the install guide, click on 'Set up subscriptions block'
- This will open your theme editor

Important:
- The widget will only appear on products that are part of a subscription plan
- You can customise the widget to suit your theme using the settings to the right
- Drag the block to where you want it to be displayed on the product page

Add to cartbuttons - Click Save
Step 3: Set up customer subscription management
Stitch Express supports you in providing your customers with a place on your store to manage their subscriptions.
In the user management portal, the customer will be able to:
- See their current active subscriptions
- Update their card details
- Request to pause and cancel their subscriptions
To enable this:
- Open your theme editor
- Navigate to Checkout and customer accounts
- In Checkout, navigate to Profile
- Edit the Header
- Add new menu item called Subscriptions
- Link the menu item to the preloaded Stitch Express Subscriptions UI
- The Subscriptions UI can be found under apps
- Save the changes
- You will now see a view like the below
- Simply click Add Page to ensure the Subscriptions UI is added to your store
- Save all changes
- Customers will now be able to sign using the email they used when subscribing on your store
- Simply click the profile icon on the storefront
- Your customer will now be able to see their subscription orders
Step 4: Create subscription plans
- Navigate back to the subscription app and click
Add more subscriptions - You will see a list of all products on your site
- You can then begin adding products to subscription plans!
- A plan allows you to group products that share the same subscription options (e.g. weekly or monthly delivery with discounts).
