Stitch Express Subscriptions uses Shopify’s tag system to enable customisation and automation.
Tags can be used to:
- Identify subscription-related orders or customers
- Trigger workflows in Shopify or third-party tools
- Support custom business logic

Order tags

| Subscription - Initial | This indicates the order is the first order in a subscription plan | Subscription - Initial |
| {Subscription ID} | This is a unique identifier per customer subscription which is generated when they activate a subscription.This is also found on the Subscription table of your Express Subscriptions app. | #iRZyyBt9cuAMqcAofcAKK1 |
| Subscription - Recurring | This indicates the order is a recurring order in a subscription plan. You will also see the sales channel is listed as Express Subscriptions | Subscription - Recurring |
| Subscription - Recurring Payment Failed | This indicates after multiple attempts the customer’s card could not be billed and their subscription has been cancelled. | Subscription - Recurring Payment Failed |
